Can I use it with hard water?
Results can vary with your water. Cedar Sunrise lists a coconut foaming soap base; hard water can make soap-based lather harder to rinse away and may leave a waxy feel. Start with a small amount, add water as you lather, and rinse thoroughly. We haven't verified this bar's performance in hard water.

How should I lather fine, long, or thick hair?
For fine hair, lather between wet palms first and apply a small amount at the roots. For long or thick hair, work in sections at the scalp rather than rubbing the bar along the lengths, which can cause tangles. Add water before adding more product, and rinse through the lengths. Adjust the amount to suit your hair; results vary by hair type.

What if my hair feels coated or heavy?
Try less product and rinse thoroughly, including underneath and at the nape. A coated feel may be leftover product or hard-water residue, not a sign that your hair needs a "detox." If it persists, pause use rather than applying more or assuming an adjustment period is required.

How do I store it when traveling?
Let the bar drain and air-dry before packing it in a travel case. Avoid sealing it wet for long periods. If you must pack it damp, unpack it promptly at your destination and let it dry on a draining dish away from standing water.
